2003-D Illinois State Quarter

2003-D Illinois State Quarter

D Mint version (Denver Mint) -The Illinois State Quarter is the first to be released in 2003 and represents Illinois as the 21st state to enter the union in Dec. 3, 1818, noted by the 21 stars encircling the coin's design. The Illiois quarter features a farm scene, Abraham Lincoln as a young man, and the Chicago skyline. These images seem to suggest Illinois' evolution from young farming community to great state through the dillengence, vision, and hard work of great Americans like our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln. The inscription "Land of Lincoln", further pays tribute to the man who once lived and studied in Springfeild, Illinois. Condition: Uncirculated
